Please remember to plan now for payroll periods during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. These short work weeks will require you to review your bank's holiday hours and possibly reschedule your direct deposit activities.

BusinessWorks Tips & Tricks

More vendors are requiring deposits from their customers, and BusinessWorks can keep track of this prepayment for you. A prepayments should not be entered as an invoice.

To record your prepayment as an open credit (either check, credit card, or EFT payment), Choose the AP> Checks> Enter Payment Options. Once you choose the vendor and fill in the data, you apply the payment amount to open credit (instead of an invoice). You may post as Credit Card or EFT payment if you don't want to generate a check.

When the actual invoice is presented, enter it with the appropriate data - once entered, you may apply the open credit to the invoice.

BusinessWorks v2010 Feature Highlight

Take the risk out of voiding a range of checks with the new, simplified Void Checks by Range interface. The new interface significantly reduces the chance of voiding the wrong range of checks by displaying a list of the checks selected to be voided. Checks may be deselected by removing the check mark from the Void box. The count and the total amount of checks selected to be voided dynamically updates as checks are selected and deselected.
