Protect Your Data - Peak Hurricane Season is Approaching!

No one will forget Katrina, but for many of us, the 2008 hurricane season was no picnic either.  In fact, 2008 was one of the most active seasons in history - the third most active year since aircraft reconnaissance began in 1944.

Officially, the Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1st to November 30th, but early to mid-September is the pinnacle. Now is the time to make sure your business data is safe and secure for whatever the 2009 season may bring.

We make numerous considerations regarding the safety of our families, homes, and businesses, but not to be overlooked is your business data.  You don't need a full blown hurricane to shut down your server or corrupt your data or software.   One down power line or brownout can do that.   And, running out the door with a server in hand doesn't guarantee that everything will be functional when you plug it back in.  There is another alternative that you should definitely consider... HOSTING. Hosting gives you the ability to access your data from any computer; anywhere you have an Internet connection.   We have teamed up with I-Business Network in Atlanta to provide safe, secure and reliable hosting services in a SAS 70 state-of-the-art data center (click the link to take a 3 minute tour) for as little as $150 per month.  To learn more about the various options and advantages of hosting, contact Ben Glazer at I-Business Network, 678-627-0646 ext. 223 and tell him you're a Lorelei Walker client.

BusinessWorks Tips & Tricks
Printing Issues With New Printers?

Several All-In-One printers cause issues with BusinessWorks printing. If you are experiencing problems printing after installing a new printer or installing Windows updates, try changing or installing a new Windows default print driver. When printing, Sage BusinessWorks uses the Windows default printer settings. There could be compatibility issues with a printer's driver or the Windows updates.

Possible Suggestions for alternative print drivers:
For a laser printer (any brand) use this driver:
HP Laserjet 1100 PCL 5; HP Laserjet 3800 PCL 5
For a deskjet printer (any brand) use this driver:
              HP Deskjet 550c

Note: Changing the printer driver may also assist with the following error messages:
"Access violation @ address 40003461 in module rtl60.bpl.."
"This printer driver requires more space than is allocated..."
