Sage BusinessWorks is a
Step Up from QuickBooks
We are hearing from some
of our customers that their accountant or new
bookkeepers are considering changing their accounting
system to QuickBooks. At first look, it appears
that QuickBooks is a less expensive purchase.
However, one reseller who was actively selling both
programs suggested that the cost of ownership (the
original purchase price and annual upgrades) was higher
for QuickBooks over a 5 year period. Also, the cost of data conversion and
training should be considered when thinking about
changing your program.
We do recommend QuickBooks
for those businesses where the owners are actually
operating the accounting software and they make all
deposits, print, sign and reconcile all of the checking
accounts. However, the ability to delete
transactions in QuickBooks creates risk to any owner
that does not perform all or some of the above cash
functions.
